McCarthy Lebit's David Schaefer Named 2020 Lawyer of the Year

McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., LPA is pleased to announce that principal attorney David A. Schaefer has been named Cleveland, Ohio’s Lawyer of the Year for Litigation-Insurance in the 2020 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®.

As the leader of the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution practice, Schaefer has been nationally recognized by Best Lawyers® since 2003 and first earned Lawyer of the Year recognition in 2014 in the category of mediation. He devotes the majority of his practice to product liability, business litigation, professional liability, employment discrimination, and construction litigation. He has extensive experience in complex business and tort litigation, addressing a diverse spectrum of personal and business grievances.

Schaefer represents both public and private companies located in Ohio and nationwide. Respected as one of Ohio’s best mediators and arbitrators, he recently served as a mediator in a dispute involving three personal injury actions and two related insurance coverage actions in two different states, all of which were resolved in approximately one and one-half days of mediation. Schaefer is a frequent lecturer on topics including deposition practice and insurance related issues. From 1988 through 2015 he taught at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy in Chicago, Illinois.

Founded in 1981 the Best Lawyers® Peer Review Guide, now in its 25th edition, is based on an exhaustive annual peer-review survey. Because of the rigorous and transparent methodology used by Best Lawyers®, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in the publication is considered a singular honor.

“David typifies the type and caliber of attorney we aspire to have at McCarthy Lebit,” said McCarthy Lebit’s Managing Principal Rob Glickman. “He is talented, hard-working and client-centric in everything he does. We are proud to have him on our team.”
