McCarthy Lebit Spearheads L'uva Bella Winery Acquisition

McCarthy Lebit congratulates its clients Evan Schumann and Marisa Sergi on their purchase of L’uva Bella Winery. The Poland, Ohio-based company is one of the largest wine-making operations in Ohio and makes wines for bulk distribution, private label and various retail channels. It is also one of the largest juice producers on the East Coast, manufacturing and distributing juices for both winemaking and other uses.

McCarthy Lebit’s Principal Attorney Michael D. Makofsky represented Evan and Marisa in the transaction. “Mike and the McCarthy Lebit team handled the intricate details of the deal which allowed me to focus on the company,” said Mr. Schumann. He added that Makofsky was available around the clock, and that his approach to structuring the transaction went beyond the deal to day-to-day operations.

“I trust Mike with every aspect of our organization” said Mr. Schumann, “we would not have been able to get the deal done without him.”
