McCarthy Lebit Adds Depth and Bench Strength with Addition of Two New Associates

McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., LPA is pleased to announce the addition of two new associate attorneys to our downtown Cleveland Law practice.

Tyler S. Renners joined the firm’s Transactional Business practices in mid-October 2021 as a first year Associate, just months after earning his J.D. cum laude from the University of Akron School of Law.  In early November, after successfully passing the Ohio Bar exam first try, Tyler completed his oath/swearing in to become an Ohio barred attorney.  Tyler’s early focus has been on supporting the firm’s Business & Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Real Estate & Construction Law groups where his experience and capabilities touch on a wide range of transactional legal matters. While in law school, Tyler spent two summers as a legal intern for TriHealth, one of the largest hospital/health systems in the Greater Cincinnati area.  Prior to law school, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Miami University (Ohio).

Lawrence R. Acton joined the firm’s busy litigation practice as a mid-level Associate in December 2021. Before joining McCarthy Lebit, Lawrence was a judicial staff attorney for the Honorable Joan Synenberg of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. Lawrence began his legal career forming his own law firm, representing individuals at the trial court level and advising businesses on myriad issues. Lawrence graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Law and Weatherhead School of Management earning the degrees of Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration concentrating in Banking and Finance. Before becoming a lawyer, Lawrence clerked for a mid-sized law firm and worked for an engineering firm. He is a member of various professional organizations including Life Member of the Eighth District Judicial Conference, Barrister of The William K. Thomas Inn of Court, and Member of The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Lawrence actively participates in pro bono endeavors including those sponsored by The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County Court Pro Bono Collaborative.

“We are very excited about adding this talent to our team,” explained Rob Glickman, Managing Principal for the firm. “The additions of Tyler and Lawrence gives us some much-needed capacity in our Transactional and Litigation practices, which will enable us to continue delivering more results for our clients.”
