Ahern is the head of the employment practice at McCarthy Lebit. She focuses on the representation of employees in discrimination, harassment, pay disparity and wrongful discharge cases. She also advocates on behalf of state and federal whistleblowers. Additionally, Ahern negotiates employment and severance agreements for executives and advises corporate clients on employment law compliance. She is an experienced trial lawyer and appellate advocate.

Attorneys designated as a certified specialist in a particular area of the law must demonstrate substantial and continuing involvement in the area, submit peer references attesting to their competency, attend advanced continuing legal education courses in the specialty area and pass a written examination. Once certified, lawyers must remain in good standing with the Supreme Court of Ohio and recertify periodically.
