Christopher J. Klasa is an Associate in McCarthy Lebit’s Litigation practice.

Prior to joining the firm, he got his start in the legal field at a boutique litigation firm as a docket clerk one month out of high school where he worked his way through undergraduate school. He then worked at large law firm in Cleveland throughout law school and in the years that followed.

Chris brings decades of backroom litigation experience to the courtroom front-line in providing a practical, common sense approach to his clients’ litigation issues. He has significant experience defending major corporations in nationwide mass and toxic torts and handles a wide variety of complex civil litigation matters, including professional liability, trade secret litigation and commercial disputes.

Chris routinely represents creditors and debtors in common law claims and those arising under various state and federal consumer protection regulations. He also counsels filmmakers, photographers, visual artists, authors, musicians and other creative professionals in all aspects of developing their creative enterprises, including protecting their intellectual property rights and litigating on behalf of those rights when necessary in both state and federal courts.

Chris also practices higher education law including, Title IX actions and other forms of misconduct on campus; special education law, including due process complaints and the negotiation of IEPs and 504 plans and disability law.

Chris has both trial and appellate experience.
