Women's Professional Committee

About The Committee

McCarthy Lebit’s Women’s Professional Committee was organized to support the firm’s women professionals with a mission to help advance the presence of women leaders in our firm, in the legal field, and throughout Ohio’s business community.

Collectively, the Women’s Professional Committee works collaboratively to fulfill its purpose with an ongoing focus on four strategic objectives:

  1. Identifying, Recruiting, Hiring, and Retaining Talented Women Attorneys.

As an Equal Opportunity Employer, McCarthy Lebit has enacted policies to ensure gender differences have no impact on hiring and promotion decisions. The Women’s Professional Committee has also made several policy recommendations to support expectant or recent mothers in our attorney ranks, allowing for temporary part-time or remote work arrangements.

  2. Fostering Female Leadership.

The Women’s Professional Committee advocates for mentorship and encourages the development of enriching relationships between our women attorneys to aid in their growth as future firm leaders.

  3. Sharing Ideas.

The Women’s Professional Committee provides a forum for attorneys to share experiences, resources, and ideas to build business development opportunities. While cultivating an inclusive environment that addresses important issues like work-life balance and preventing attrition, the committee also sponsors local events to connect women with clients and the community.

  4. Spearheading Programs Supporting Professional Women.

The Women’s Professional Committee is dedicated to promoting business development by and for women through hosting and/or supporting women-focused events. Participation in bar organizations and other professional and charitable groups that help women advance in the law and society are also encouraged. The committee had the honor of hosting a happy hour at the Maltz Museum of Jewish History in celebration of the commemorative Ruth Bader Ginsburg exhibit, which the firm proudly sponsored. These events present opportunities for committee members to introduce professionals in their network to one another.

Through the advocacy of the Women’s Professional Committee, our firm has enhanced programs and policies to support all employees, including generous maternity and paternity leave policies and flexible work arrangements that suit modern professionals. They also support other female-focused organizations such as: Aviatra Accelerators, Women in Finance, and the Women in Law Section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association
